[Class 137] [See also Group I] A damper for chicken brooders or similar heated chambers comprises outer and inner cylindrical members a, b<1>, Fig. 1, arranged within the brooder and connected respectively to a stirrup d holding a capsule e, or other temperature-sensitive device, and the actuating rod f of the capsule. The change in temperature brings perforations a<1>, b more or less into register to regulate the passage of air through the outer open end of the member a. A perforated cap a<6> may be provided with a screw a<7> through which the rod f passes, a spring f<1> being arranged between an abutment on the rod f and the screw. In the form shown in Fig. 2, a single perforated tube a is arranged within the brooder, while the actuating rod f is slidable in the bar h of a stirrup h<1> and carries a damper disc g adapted to regulate the flow of air through the upper end of the tube.
