Abstract
450,510. Sets. STEUART, D. S. S., St. Mark's House, St. Mark's Square, and HAMILTON & BRANDON, N. B. M. DOUGLAS-HAMILTON, DUCHESS OF, 25, St. Edmund's Terrace, both in Regent's Park, London. Jan. 23, 1935, No. 45/36. Divided out of 448,894. [Class 40 (iv)] In a telephone set formed as a unitary structure, the transmitter is located at the rear of the set and is associated with an enlarged mouthpiece extending towards the front of the set and a dial switch is provided at the front of the set adjacent the enlarged opening of the mouthpiece. The transmitter 3 is mounted in a member supported in a casing 4 attached to the rear portion of a base - plate 12 and is connected by a passage 2 with a mouthpiece 1 which has an opening increasing in size towards the front of the set and which is described in Specification 448,864. The dial switch 5 is fixed slightly below and in front of the enlarged opening of the mouthpiece and may be at the same level as the transmitter 3. Alternatively the dial switch may be located in the centre of the opening of the mouthpiece. The receiver 6 is mounted by means of telescoping tube on a rod 9 connected by a friction member 10 to a swivel support 11 so that it can be applied to either ear. Alternatively two earpieces, similarly mounted, may be employed.
