Abstract
449,600. Sound - film feeding and guiding devices. FISHER, D. P., 22, Wigan Street, Wellington, New Zealand. Dec. 28, 1934, No. 3924/36. Divided out of 449,547. [Class 40 (ii)] In sound - film recording or reproducing apparatus, the film, after passing through the sound-gate 5 and before reaching a take-up sprocket 6, passes over a jockey pulley 12, which is mounted by means of a spring 13 on a pendulum 14 which is free to swing about a pivot 15. By this means, fluctuations in the speed of the film due to irregularities in the sprocket &c. are prevented from affecting the part of the film near the sound-gate. The pulley 12 consists of two independent rollers, spaced apart as shown in Fig. 4. A guide roller 7 is located between the sound-gate and the pulley 12. Means for ensuring uniform movement of the film before it reaches the sound-gate are provided, as described in Specification 449,547.
