Abstract
449,384. Fibrous - cement pipes. MAGNANI, A., Broni, Pavia, Italy. Oct. 22, 1935, No. 29150. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1934. [Class 99 (ii)] [See also Group V] In making pipes of fibrous - cement by moulding between a collecting and moulding drum 1 and a permeable wrapping drum 5, the fibrous-cement mixture is delivered to the drum 1, which is permeable and subjected to suction from within, in a longitudinal zone sufficiently removed from the moulding zone to permit the mixture to spread uniformly over the width of the drum. As shown, the mixture may be collected from a receptacle 4, into which the drum 1 dips, or it may be supplied through one or more ducts 11. The drum 5, within which a reduced pressure may be created, drives the drum 1 bv frictional contact. To form pipes with socket portions, the drum 1 has independent parts 1, 1<1> of different diameters with tapered shoulders 10, and the drum 5 is formed to correspond, as shown in Fig. 2.
