[Classes 20 (i), 20 (iv), and 87 (i)] [See also Group I] A memorial, pillar, column, pedestal, base, slab, wall, border, curbing, edging, ornamental structure, or the like for use in cemeteries, gardens, &c. consists of regularly or irregularly shaped pieces of stone or like material bound together by a mixture of cement and fine aggregate of crushed stone in such a manner that the exposed pieces of stone &c. are displayed in prominent relief, and some of the crushed stones forming the aggregate are also brought into distinctive relief, by raking out some of the fixing mixture from the interstices b separating the regularly or irregularly shaped pieces of stone &c. and at once washing the interstices and exposed surfaces with a mixture of sharp sand and water. The selected and graded pieces of stone may be cut, tooled, and shaped. Symmetrical or irregular cavities to receive soil or water for growing plants may be provided in the structures as they are built up, the pieces of stone forming the cavities being exposed in relief.
