Abstract
447,955. Collapsable photographic cameras. VOIGTLANDER & SOHN AKT.- GES., 7, Campestrasse, Brunswick, Germany. Oct. 7, 1935, No. 27695. Convention date, Oct. 9, 1934. [Class 98 (i)] A self-erecting camera has a member movable within the body of the camera in the direction of the line of sight for setting the lens front slide in focusing position, the said member being always located within the camera body. The base board 3 is hinged to the camera at 2 and a slide 5, 6 guided in tracks 4, supports pivoted struts 8 which carry the lens front 10 pivotally mounted thereon at 9. A member 14 is integral with an arm 14<1> pivoted at 15 on one of the side walls of the camera, and is connected to the slide 5, 6 by links 17, jointed on to the member and slide at 16, 18 respectively, and to one of the struts 8 by a link 12 jointed at 11, 13. The joint 13 is farther from the hinge 2 than the joint 16. A coiled spring 24 anchored at a pin 26 is connected to a lug 25 projecting downwardly from the slide 5, 6. An arm 19 pivoted at 15 is integral with a toothed segment 20 which is engaged by a pinion 21. The pinion is rotated by a button 22 outside the camera. A lug 23 on the arm engages the arm 14<1> for moving the latter rearwardly against the spring 24 and moving the slide 5, 6. The rotation of the button 22 determines the position of the slide 5, 6 and the focusing of the camera. When the camera is folded, the links 12, 17 move the struts 8 round their pivots 7 to an inverted position within the camera, the lens remaining upright. Specification 388,997 is referred to.
