Abstract
447,901. Photographic roll - film cameras. BILLING, N. P., 6, Lower Regent Street, London. Oct. 19, 1934, No. 30030. [Class 98 (i)] A camera bad comprises a body portion to accom modate the film and a removable cover which con stitutes a separate housing for a filn numbering device and is geared to the film winding spin die. The body portion 1 contains cavities 2, 3, 4, 5 the cavities 2, 5 accommodating the film in use and the cavities 3, 4 pro viding accommod ation for spare or used spools. Coaxially with the cavity 5 and rotatably mounted in the cover, is a spindle 12 formed with a key 13 to engage the film spool. In a cavity 16 on the underside of the cover and secured to the spindle 12, is a ratchet wheel 17 with a co-operating spring detent to control the unwinding of the film. A cavity 55 between the top plate 56 and the bottom plate 57 accommodates the numbering device. A pinion 60 attached to the spindle 12 meshes with a pinion 61 which is integral with a drum 63 having pins spaced around its periphery. A second drum 65 with pins 66 is mounted on a spindle 67 which is secured on the plate 56. A band 68, preferably of steel tape, encircles the drums 63, 65 and is perforated to engage pins 64, 66, and the band bears a series of numbers which traverse past an aperture in the rear wall of the cover. The cover fits closely onto the body portion 1. All the cavities 2 .. 5 are slotted as at 10, 11 to accommodate beads on the free ends of the films. Slots 8, 9 open into the front of the casing 1 to allow the entry and exit of the film.
