Abstract

447,642. Plaster boards. TYRRELL, E.G., 7, Josephine Close, Norwich. July 17, 1935, No. 20336. [Class 87 (i)] [See also Group V] A plaster board has a reinforcing layer of loose sisal fibres which project as a fringe round the board. The board may have a rebated edge to receive the fringe. To make a faced board, a thin layer of plaster B is placed on a mould table A and allowed to set ; long fibres C are added and the mould sides D placed in position. Further fibre is added and pressed down by a wire netting frame and plaster worked therein. The wire netting is removed and the surface E screeded off. For an unfaced board, the layer B is omitted and the table A is roughened. In a modification, Fig. 2, the board is formed with a fringe at the centre of its edges by making the mould sides in two parts D<1>, D2. For a continuous process a series of moulds formed into a conveyer may be used.
