[Class 143] Computing - apparatus.-In a weighing- apparatus wherein the weight and computed values of the commodity are projected optically on to one or more ground glass screens, a vertical transparent flat film 7 bearing concentric value scales oscillates about an horizontal axis and the beam of light is subjected between the film and the screen or screens to at least two reflections in mutually perpendicular planes in such a manner that the horizontal displacements of the graduations on the film appear vertically on the screen or screens and a plurality of different value indications corresponding to the same weight appear simultaneously in horizontal alignment. One of the load-counterbalancing pendulums 5, 5<1>, Figs. 1 and 3, carries the transparent film 7, and the graduations thereon are projected by a lamp 11, condenser and objective lenses, and mirrors 14, 16, 17 or reflecting prisms on to ground glass screens 10, 10<1>. The optical system causes the vertical column of value computations to be projected as horizontal images on the screens. The pendulum-levers may be replaced by weighing springs. In order to obtain a projection centrally with respect to the apparatus, the scale beam 3 is arranged diagonally of the casing as shown in Fig. 4, and the pendulumlever 5 is situated in a corner so that the prism 14 may be arranged in the longitudinal axis of the casing.
