Abstract

446,358. Louvre mountings for vehicle &c. lamps. McNAUGHT, A. J., The Bower, Lawson Road, Thornton, near Blackpool. Feb. 1, 1935, No. 3255. [Class 75 (iv)] A louvre mounting for a vehicle or like lamp comprises two parallel side members 5 which are joined at their ends by curved members 12 adapted to fit into the lamp front 13 and which are formed with a number of inclined slots 6 each having at one side a spring 10 urged towards a bearing surface 7 on the opposite side, the translucent louvres 14 being nipped firmly in position between the springs and the bearing surfaces. The latter may be formed by bending back the metal cut to form the slots, whilst the springs may be S-shaped and engaged by bent over portions 11 of a strengthening fold 9 which is formed on the unslotted edge of each side member. In a modification shown in the Specification, the louvres extend across one half only of the lamp front, one of the side members being engaged in a diametrically disposed folded bar, and the outermost louvres being made of polished metal instead of glass.
