Abstract
445,122. Book covers. FEARN, J., 23, Bolton Road, Pendleton, Salford, Lancashire. Oct. 15, 1934, No. 29402. [Class 16] A protective cover 1 for a book is made of transparent material, such as viscose film or oil-silk, and in the form of a tube open at both ends, and, prior to inserting the covers 3 of the book into the folded over ends of the tube, the ordinary paper dustjacket 2 is inserted into and fully enclosed by the tube, the jacket 2 being fully visible and protected. In a modification, the cover 1 is made of a combination of opaque and transparent materials, such as opaque paper, or cloth and viscose film, these materials being joined together by stitching or by adhesives, and the transparent material is arranged to expose the title or other material on the back of the book, or the enclosed dust-jacket.
