Abstract
For effecting catalytic gas reactions rounded contact bodies are used which are withdrawn as they become inactive from one end of the contact chamber without interrupting the reaction, and replaced by fresh bodies added at the other end. The bodies may consist of activated ferric hydroxide and cement shaped in a revolving drum as described in Specification 424,478. The exhausted bodies may be revivified and returned to the chamber.
