[Class 144 (ii)] Railway wheels are fitted with soft rubber tyres c into which project studs d spaced around the rim. Adhesion of the rubber to the metal is effected by means of an intermediate layer of material such as the rubber isomers described in Specifications 352,080 and 371,339, [both in Group V]. The rubber may be arched between the studs.
