Abstract

An adhesive - applying device comprises upper and lower rollers between which the work A passes, a tank 1 into which the lower roller extends, the lower roller 11, 12 including a smooth section 12 rotating in a direction opposite to the direction of travel of the work. The upper roller 5 is shown of a width equal to the combined widths of the parts 11, 12 and the smooth section 12, preferably concave at 13 and of slightly less <PICT:0442991/III/1> diameter than the section 11, is carried by a hollow shaft 9, through which passes a shaft 10 carrying the roughened section 11 moving in the same direction as the work. A scraper may be provided for each section 11, 12, and a second roughened section may be placed on the opposite side of the smooth section 12.
