Abstract
442,960. Switchgear structures. ELLISON, Ltd., G., and STRATTON, H. T., Wellhead Lane Works, Perry Bar, Birmingham. Nov. 17, 1934, No. 33152. [Class 38 (v)] A meter or instrument transformer h is adapted to be disconnected from a terminal d or terminals of a supply system, by means of a contact j which, with a fuse or fuses g, is carried on a carriage f suspended at k from a pair of horizontal rails e slidable in the end of the oil - container a. The lid q is locked, while the parts j, d are in engagement, by a bent plate p on the rails e, and spring-bolts r rise to obstruct the inward movement of the rails when the lid is removed. The rails are operated by a screw n carried on the box a and rotatable by a detachable handle on the screw - end o. In the withdrawn position, the fuse engages an earthed contact m whereby it can be safely renewed. The transformer and fuse may be transposed, or both may be mounted on the carriage f. The Provisional Specification states also that the insulator l may be carried on a vertical plate on the carriage, also that a finger piece, rotatably or pivotally mounted on the end of a draw-bar, serves to lock the lid and co-operates with two lugs, one on the lid and the other on the box, for securing the parts in either position.
