[Class 52 (ii)] A folding hammock comprises a rectangular flexible reclining surface 12 supported on cords or cross-bars 10, 11 which extend between the upper ends of pairs of bars 1, 2 which are pivoted together 3 to form X-frames. When the hammock is in the position of use as in Fig. 1 the upper ends of the bars 1, 2 are supported by cross-stayed rectangular frames 4, 5, which are arranged as shown to act as struts and are turned in the direction of the arrows y, y<1> when the hammock is folded as shown in Fig. 2. The various frame members may be made of wood, metal tubing or other suitable material. The members 1, 2 may each be formed of two parts pivoted to one another and may be pivoted together at 3 in such a manner that the reclining surface is of greater length than the members 1, 2. The longitudinal edges of the flexible material 12 may be secured to cords 13, 14 connected to the cross-bars 10, 11.
