Abstract

441,812. Making compound bearing- surfaces. BOZEL-MALETRA SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE PRODUITS CHIMIQUES, 38, Rue de Lisbonne, Paris. May 14, 1935, No. 14149. Convention date, May 14, 1934. [Class 83 (ii)] [See also Groups XXXIV and XXXVI] A metallic bearing-surface is made resistant to wear by coating it before or after machining with a layer of cobalt. The deposit is preferably made electrolytically but may be applied by spraying, cementation or fusion &c. The coating may be confined to one of a pair of co-operating basic bearing surfaces of metals such as iron, steel, nickel, copper, brass and bronze.
