Abstract

441,580. Multiple photograph apparatus. SCHLESINGER, M., 48, Beethovenstraat, Amsterdam. Jan. 3, 1935, No. 259. [Class 98 (i)] Apparatus for taking a succession of photographs in rows on a single plate consists of a horizontal row of cameras having shutters constituted by strips, e.g. of copper or aluminium, pierced with apertures and released and allowed to fall in succession, and means for raising the plate by the width of one row of pictures after each row is exposed. A common rod effects the restoring of the shutters and the raising of the plate. The lateral lenses may be slightly inclined towards the central lens. In the form shown, seven cameras 10 arranged in a horizontal row are provided with shutters 13 having apertures 14 and supported by a board 16. The board 16 has a narrower part 19 and a manipulating knob 17 and when moved to the right in the figure allows the shutters to fall. Return of the shutters is effected by raising a rod 28 carrying a board on which the lower ends of the shutters impinge, the upper part of the board screening the lenses during this movement. The plate 23 is carried in guides 24 and supported by a rack 34 and when the rod 28 is raised, a cam 42 acting on pawls 44, 47 causes the rack to be raised by one tooth, a spring drum 40 being secured to a board 35 at the bottom end of the rack by a cable 39.
