Abstract

441,335. Mould materials. LANGENOHL, M., 83, Bulmkerstrasse, Gelsenkirchen, Germany. July 10, 1934, No. 20211. [Class 83 (i)] Moulds for the centrifugal casting of tubes &c. are lined with zinc oxide, barium sulphate or carbonate, calcium sulphate, asbestos, infusorial earth or other substance having a high melting point and low conductivity, in the form of small bars or flakes deposited as a felt by centrifugal action, rolling, &c. A cementlike binder may be added and, if resistance to corrosion in soil is required, a substance, such as lime or one containing copper, adapted to adhere to the cast pipe and react with the substances in the soil for this purpose. If a rough pipe, adapted for coating with bitumen &c. is required, the lining is made from somewhat coarse particles of barium sulphate or carbonate. Specifications 11917 /85, [Class 83], and 423,612 are referred to.
