Abstract

441,128. Insect traps. MARSH, E., Bradley Hall, Grappenhall, near Warrington. June 12, 1934, No. 17342. [Class 5 (i)] An insect trap comprises a tapering main casing 1, preferably of perforated zinc or woven wire, with open top and bottom, the former being substantially less in cross-section than the latter, surmounted by a container 5 the top of the casing extending some distance into the container. The casing is supported on legs 2 to maintain the bottom 4 some distance from the ground ; flanges may be provided to limit the distance the legs enter the ground. The container is preferably made in two parts the lower 5 being formed of cast iron as an annular trough to contain liquid insecticide such as paraffin oil or turpentine and the upper 6, of glass or other transparent material, fitting on the trough.
