468,155. Insect cages. JACKSON, L. MELLERSH-. (Austin, F. E.) June 5, 1936, No. 15783. [Class 5 (ii)] A cage for burrowing insects such as ants comprises a frame fitted on one or both sides with a glass frame 7 and adapted to contain earth 8 or other filling material separated from the upper portion of the cage by a bar 9. Insects pass from the upper part of the cage to the material 8 through slots in a block 11 and in a parapet 15. A whistle 23, a handle 24, and a feeding cup 20 are provided. In a modification, the block 11 is dispensed with, while the feeding cup is accessible to the insects through a hole in a grooved superstructure on the dividing bar 9.
