Abstract
440,346. Automatic exchange switches. AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Strowger Works, and SAXBY, R. N., 36, Millersdale Road, Mossley Hill, both in Liverpool. June 25, 1934, No. 18733. [Class 40 (iv)] In a two-motion switch of the kind that, on release, continues its rotary motion to an extreme position and then drops down, e.g. as described in Specification 391,123, the rotary stepping pawl 10, which is pivoted at 9 to the magnet armature and urged clockwise by a spring, in the extreme position engages a deep slot in the rotary ratchet so that a projection 13 on the pawl comes against a stop 14 on the subsequent energization of the magnet and the armature is then usable to open the interrupter springs. On reaching the lowest position the switch is restored rotarily by a spring and off-normal springs then open the rotary magnet circuit.
