439,958. Hearth curbs. SMART, L. R., Stanley Works, Sherbourne Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham. June 16, 1934, No. 17857. [Class 126] In a hearth curb with an end box, the outside end wall 4 of the box is provided with one or more sheet metal pockets 1 to receive newspapers, &c. The pocket is attached by flanges 3, and may project forwardly to lie level with the socket 6 for the curb front member. The pocket may taper towards the bottom, and one or more additional pockets which also taper may be provided on its outer face.
