[Class 132 (ii)] A golf club for practising and teaching the correct use of the lower hand during the swing is provided with a movable grip piece for that hand. A golf club with steel shaft 10, integral brace member 14 and integral handle portion 12 for upper hand has a handle portion 13 for lower hand which is detachably connected with lower part of handle portion 12 and with upper part of shaft 10. The upper connection is through a domed bushing 20 engaging a cup-shaped socket 22 and the lower connection is through an adjustably spring-pressed snap-action ball 23 engaging a socket 25 in the headed upper end 26 of a plug 27 riveted in the upper end of the shaft 10. The handle portion 13 becomes detached from the remainder of the club if a right-handed player applies excessive " righthand." The snap action of the ball is adjusted to suit the user by means of a set-screw 35 which positions a spool 32 to give the correct pressure of the spring 24 on the ball, the travel of the spool being limited by a ridge 34 on the inner wall. To prevent dislodging the lower hand grip on striking the ball, a stop 40 on a ring 39 is mounted on the socket 27 and held in position by a spring ring 39<a>. To prevent displacement of the lower hand grip when the club is out of use, a further pair of stops 45, Fig. 7, on a spring clip 41 are provided which can be slid up and down the shaft.
