Abstract
437,281. Grilling or toasting appliances. CAMPBELL, T., 12, Stanmore View, Leeds. April 26, 1934, No. 12600. [Class 28 (i)] A grilling or toasting appliance comprises a food carrier 1 pivoted to a handle 2, the pivot connections being such that, by an interlocking action, the carrier may be located in a horizontal, or substantially horizontal, position, i.e. substantially in alignment with the handle. The carrier 1 is formed from a single piece of wire, the side parts 9 and the bottom parts 7 holding the food against displacement. The pivots comprise loops 4 on the carrier and loops 5 on the bifurcations 11, and the interlocking is effected by the parts 12 of the loops 4 engaging the arms 11. If desired, the loops 4 or the loops 5 may be of elongated form to permit the carrier to fall somewhat below, and at an angle to, the plane of the arms 11. The carrier 1 may be modified by omitting the side members 9 and the lateral extensions of the front members 8, the front 8 then being adapted to press lightly on the food.
