[Class 61 (iii)] A spanner for removing the ring-nut 3 of a centrifugal machine comprises a first ring 8 provided with fixed screw studs 13 with plain ends 17 adapted to engage holes in the ring-nut and a second ring 10 provided with handles &c. 11 and engaged with the first ring by means permitting relative movement such as curved slots 12 engaging the screw studs allowing an impact effect in loosening a tightly secured ring- nut. Additional means for simultaneously raising the cover 2 from the drum 1 comprise arms 19 supported from the first ring 8 and carrying sliding stub axles 21 fitted with grooved rollers 22 adapted to engage under the cover ring-nut 25 after the ring-nut 3 has been unscrewed slightly.
