434,985. Dentifrices. POLLAK, J. E., 20, Holborn, London.-(Worcester Salt Co. ; 40, Worth Street, New York, U.S.A.) June 19, 1934, No. 18162. [Class 131] A tooth paste contains, in suspension, a substantial proportion of sodium chloride in crystalline form, the suspension being rendered stable by the addition of a colloid or of a concentrated suspension of finely divided substance such as magnesium hydroxide which may also contain a colloid such as gum tragacanth. A plasticizer such as glycerine or other polyhydric alcohol, an abrasive, and flavouring ingredients are also added. According to an example the paste contains glycerine, soap, gum tragacanth, magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate, a concentrated aqueous suspension of magnesia, water, saccharin, crystalline sodium chloride, and a flavouring such as a mixture of menthol, methyl salicylate, safrol, and oils of peppermint, anise, eucalyptus and wintergreen.
