Abstract

434,258. Coal-boxes. SCHWABACH, M. C. G., 98, Princes Park Avenue, Golders Green, London. Dec. 18, 1934, No. 36247. [Class 52 (i)] [See also Groups X and XVII] Bunkers and the like for coke and similar materials have one or more concave channels in the base of the discharge aperture 12, Figs. 11 and 12, for the reception of a shovel or receptacle 1 which fits exactly into the channels, the upper portion of the aperture being so arranged as to allow the shovel or receptacle to be tilted or lifted before withdrawal. In the construction shown, one channel, formed by the base 3 and walls 4 of the discharge aperture, is provided and the receptacle which is fitted with handles 7, 11, completely closes the aperture when inserted. In a modification, Fig. 2, a plurality of trough-shaped channels are provided by ribs 4 formed on a plate 3 and in another construction deeper channels of similar section are provided for use with a larger removing receptacle. The channels may be of part circular cross-section.
