[Class 140] [See also Group XXXVI] A strip for repairing the screen of a trailing cable comprises a number of single or stranded wires 1 laid parallel to and in contact with one another and enclosed between two sheets of rubber or other retaining material, the edges of the strip containing the ends of the wires being parallel and not perpendicular to the wires. The strip may be of indefinite extent from which lengths containing the required number of wires for individual repairs may be cut. The ends of the wires may be soldered together or to a strip 3 to prevent displacement.
