Abstract
432,081. Plate racks. MAIN, Ltd., R. & A., 48, Grosvenor Gardens, Victoria, and STEBBING, R. J., Gothic Works, Edmonton, both in London. Jan. 15, 1935, No. 1377. [Class 28 (ii)] In a plate rack of the kind comprising a flat grid-like frame and a sinuous bar 17 secured beneath the grid to support the plates by their edges, the bar 17 is pivotally arranged so that it may be folded, for transport, against the underside of the grid, and a transverse pivotally mounted member 20 is arranged to lock the bar in its operative position. As shown in plan, the bar 17 and the member 20 are in the folded position. When the rack is to be arranged for use, the member 20 is swung into a vertical plane, and the bar 17 is then likewise swung down. The bar 17 slides along and distorts the curved part 22 of the member 20 and, when it reaches the vertical position, it snaps into the recess 24 and is thereby locked. The short sides 10 and one of the longer sides 11 are formed from a single length of tube. The other long side 12 is received in tubular T-pieces 13, the extensions 14 of the short sides 10 being drilled at 15 to facilitate attachment to a support, e.g., to a gas cooker. The solid cross-members 16 are received in holes drilled in the sides 11, 12. The bar 17 has journal ends 19 which are pivotally received in the sides 10 and/or in the members 16.
