Abstract
431,882. Protective arrangements. BELLING & LEE, Ltd., and LEE, E. M., Cambridge Arterial Road, Enfield, Middlesex. Feb. 15, 1934, No. 5085. [Class 38 (iv)] A unit for the suppression of high-frequency disturbance in mains due to apparatus supplied thereby, comprises a casing in which are mounted two high - frequency inductances 14, 15, two condensers 35, 36 arranged in a casing 13, fuses and circuit modifying means 28, 29, 30 equivalent at least to a single pole change-over switch for changing over the connections within the device so as to permit selection of the best suppressing arrangement. A pair of fuses mounted in a box 27 may be placed in alternative upper and lower positions in which the inductances are connected, one in each main, either on the supply or the consumer side of the condensers. A wander plug 30 with alternative positions 28, 29 is provided whereby the condensers may be connected in series across the mains through the fuses with the mid-point earthed, or one may be connected across the mains through the fuses and the other connected between one of the mains and earth. The fuse carrier and contacts may be replaced by a double pole change-over switch, and the wander plug and connections by a single pole change over switch.
