Abstract
431,697. Vacuum cleaners. AIR-WAY ELECTRIC APPLIANCE CORPORATION, 2101, Auburn Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, U.S.A. Jan. 13, 1934, No. 1351. Convention date, Jan. 13, 1933. [Class 8 (i)] In a vacuum cleaner in which the mouth of the floor tool is provided with a comb, the teeth of which extend from the exterior to the interior of the floor tool thus creating a series of air jets which flow through the pile of the carpet ; the teeth are made thin and the space between adjacent teeth is narrow, the thicknesses and spaces being of the order of <1>/32#. The teeth have their under faces 20 inclined downwardly towards their leading edges 19 to form an acute angle with the horizontal plane. The leading face of the comb is inclined downwardly towards the mouth or interior space of the floor tool.
