Abstract

431,043. Moulding confectionery. BURDIN, N. V., 118, Wakefield Road, Pontefract, Yorkshire. March 22, 1935, No. 8972. [Class 87 (ii)] To prevent liquorice paste confections or cakes from adhering to the tool with which they are stamped, use is made of compressed air in conjunction with a stamp B surrounded by a sleeve A, according to either of two methods. As shown in Figs. 3 and 3B, the face of the stamp B is flush with the edge of the sleeve A during the stamping operation. The stamp is then withdrawn into the sleeve and compressed air is supplied to the space therebetween. Finally the sleeve is raised and the compressed air causes the cake to remain on the tray. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 4, the stamp protrudes from the sleeve during stamping. The stamp is then withdrawn as before and lifts the cake into contact with the sleeve. Finally compressed air is admitted which forces the cake off the sleeve and causes it to drop back on to the tray. The stamp and sleeve may be of any suitable pattern or shape.
