In operation, fibre is fed by a lattice l to the feed box A, the curved bottom plate of which has an oblique forward edge. When the desired weight of material has been received the hangers g fall, automatic mechanism acts on the levers E<1>, E<2> and opens the flaps a<1> to discharge the fibres, the mechanism subsequently closing as in Specification 385,434.
