Abstract
426,608. Measuring heat quantities. JESPERSEN, J. J., 12, Sankelmarksgade, Aalborg, Denmark. Oct. 15, 1934, No. 29426. Convention date, Oct. 14, 1933. [Class 97 (iii)] To measure the quantity of heat emitted by radiators a thermo-electric battery and an electric meter are mechanically combined to form a unit which can be fastened directly to the radiator with the hot and cold junctions of the battery in thermal contact with two parts of the radiator having the maximum temperature difference. The thermoelectric battery with the hot junction at 5 and cold junction at 6 is enclosed in a tubular casing 4 which carries the electrolytic meter 7 and is fitted between the elements 1, 2 of the radiator. The reading of the meter must be multiplied by a constant dependent on the superficial area of the radiator.
