Abstract

425,231. Electric hot-plates. FALK, STADELMANN, & CO., Ltd., and BICKELL, S. F., 83, Farringdon Road, London. Sept. 11, 1933, No. 25135. [Class 39 (iii)] [See also Group XXXVI] An electric hotplate of the low voltage type comprises a resistance element formed by stamping a metal sheet with a number of slots to divide the plate into radiating arms 1, 2, 3 and 4 which are then bent to lie in two or more planes. The element is carried on a refractory backing 7 recessed to receive arms 1 and 3, while arms 2 and 4 rest on its upper surface. The middle patch 5 of the element may be earthed. The outer extremities of arms 1 and 3 are connected to one terminal of the supplying transformer and the arms 2 and 4 are connected to the other terminal.
