424,381. Thermally-actuated valves. ROYER, G. G., 31, Boulevard Pereire, Paris, and SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON, 35, Rue Malakoff, Asnieres, Seine, both in France. March 13, 1934, No. 7977. Convention date, March 14, 1933. [Class 135] In a thermal regulating-tap for centralheating radiators, the tap and thermal element are disposed in two distinct compartments of a body separated by an insulating wall traversed by a pivoted device for transmitting motion between the thermal element and the tap. As shown in Fig. 1, the valve 6 is actuated through a rod 7 by a lever 16 pivoted at 17 in the insulating wall 20 and acted upon by a thermally-sensitive member 18 carried in bearings 23. The fixed member 24 of the thermal actuating member abuts against spring washers 31 in the adjusting head 27. The wall 20 is connected to depending walls 29, 35 or may be formed with a continuous wall 37, Fig. 4, having convection holes 39. The underside 38 of the wall 20 may be shaped to reflect heat out through the holes 39.
