Abstract

423,813. Letterboxes. ELLISON, J., Grove Hill, Monk's Way, West Kirby, Cheshire. Sept. 28, 1933, No. 26668. [Class 18] A collapsable letter receptacle comprises a textile bag 12 having one part of the mouth secured to a U-shaped strip metal, or wire frame 11, and the other part of the mouth to the door, or to an anchorage 10 of wood and/or metal secured thereto, and to which the wire frame is hinged by rings 18. Raising the flap causes it to lift the frame, or to engage the back 25 of the receptacle, and so to open the mouth of the bag. The anchorage may be a single horizontal member, rings, buttonholes, eyelet holes, &c. may be used for attaching the mouth of the bag, and the invention may be applied to other types of letter aperture.
