Abstract

423,456. Reflectors. REDFERN STEVENS, Ltd., Beverley Works, Alma Street, and RUSSELL, R., 43, Holyhead Road, Handsworth, both in Birmingham. Oct. 20, 1933, No. 29094. [Class 97 (i)] A rear reflector to be mounted on the mudguard of a bicycle &c. comprises a cylindrical housing 5 formed at its front end with an inwardly - extending flange 9 against which the reflecting element 10 is clamped by a disc-like partition member 12 carrying a bolt 16, extending along the axis of the housing, for securing the reflector to the mudguard 8. The flange 9 is at rightangles to the axis of the housing and the rear end 7 is inclined to the said axis and is outwardly flanged to seat on the mudguard. The disc 12 is concave towards the reflector 10 and is formed at its periphery with an axiallyextending flange 13 which is a close fit within the housing ; a depression 14 in the disc forms a seating for the head of the bolt 16. The disc is secured by pressing in or indenting the wall of the housing. The reflector is secured against the mudguard by a nut 19 and a washer 21 made from a strip of metal with a central aperture and converging ends, this strip being bent about its line of symmetry to substantially U -shape so that the converging ends are parallel to each other.
