MELLERSH-, 28, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(Ges. fur Linde's Eismaschinen Akt.- Ges. ; Hollriegelskreuth, near Munich, Germany) Feb. 16, 1934, No. 5227. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 17, 1934.] [Class 8 (ii)] A two-stage process for the separation of air &c., into its constituents comprises the compression of the main quantity of air to be separated to the pressure permitting of condensation of the separated nitrogen &c., in heat exchange with boiling oxygen &c., the cooling taking place in periodically reversed regenerators, a separate cold-generating process being effected by compression of a small amount of air to high pressure and its expansion in a motor and by expansion of a further portion of air by throttling after heat exchange with the motor exhaust; in addition as much air as oxygen is produced is passed into the second separation stage under slight pressure to utilize the extra washing liquid so produced.
