Abstract
422,966. Bidets. MISLIVECEK, P., 5, Pfefferhofg, Vienna. Sept. 20, 1933, No. 26028. [Class 26] [See also Groups VI and XIV] Apparatus for intestinal and vaginal irrigation comprises an adjustable reclining structure for the patient, a framework supporting an irrigation tube and a douche device and adjustable longitudinally in the reclining structure, and a shield covering said framework and having flexible elements such as side flaps, and an abdominal saddle, whereby it is fitted closely against the under and inner surfaces of the thighs and the lower abdomen, and having straps for attachment to the reclining structure, the supply pipes to the irrigation tube and douche device leading from a centralized control device and passing through the shield or saddle, an outlet being provided at the lowest point of the shield. The reclining structure may comprise a part 1, having a back 3 hinged at 2 and held by notched arms 5, and a part 7 secured thereto by catches 8. The back is hollowed at its lower part and ends in a roll 6. A leg rest 10 is hinged at 11 to a sliding carriage 9, held by means of a co-operating pawl 14 and rack 15, and is adjusted by means of notched struts. The roll 6 has a gap 12, Fig. 2, in which the shield 19 is mounted, by means of pins 16, in slots 17 which merge into guides 18 so that it can be swung down and slid back beneath the part 1. The shield carries a rubber sealing roll 24, and flaps 25 united to form the abdominal saddle 26 to which straps 27 are secured. Further straps 27<1> connect the shield to the back rest. A slide 40, slidable in a sheathing 37 is formed with uprights on which holders 20, connected by a perforated douche tube, are adjustable. The douche tube is connected centrally to a supply pipe 551 and is used for spraying the anal region to relieve cramp and muscular spasms. A yoke, telescopically adjustable in the uprights of the slide 40, carries an adjustable holder 44 for a tube 46 connected to the irrigation tube 49 and a supply pipe 54<11>. In a modification, the shield is formed as a casing in the front wall of which the support for the irrigator and douche is adjustably mounted. A tank 52 is divided into two compartments for irrigating water led off by pipe 54, and douching water fed by pipe 55. A container 56, fitted with a stirrer or crusher, feeds medicament via a filter 59 and pipe 57. These pipes lead to a control device 60, Fig. 9, comprising a plug 60<1> having ports 61-64 and which can be turned to various positions as indicated on an inscribed plate. In the " open position, pipe 54 communicates with a pipe 541 so that liquid flows via a non-return valve 73 and pipe 54<11> to the irrigation tube while medicament flows into the liquid by pipes 57 and 71. In the " douche " position, these pipes are cut off and the pipes 55, 55<1> are connected by port 61 to feed water to the douche. In addition, the irrigation liquid returns from the intestine via pipe 54<11>, a pipe 68, port 63 and a pipe 69 into the shield. The plug 60<1> can be turned further to " closed " position. In the pipe 54 is fitted a filter 74, Fig. 1, and a flow indicator 78. The outlet pipe 28 leads to an excrement trap 30 comprising a casing having a perforated drawer for collecting solids, and a discharge pipe fitted with a grating. An inspection window may also be fitted.
