Abstract

421,534. Colour photography. GASPAR, B., 38, Innsbruckerstrasse, Schoneberg, Berlin. March 23, 1933, No. 8847. Convention date, March 24, 1932. [Class 98 (ii)] A multipack recording material for colour films consists of silver halide layers, one or more layers being colourless and one or more layers coloured with a dyestuff which acts both as filter dyestuff for a colourless layer and for the formation of a coloured image in the dyestuffcontaining layer. The colourless layer or layers may contain colourless dye-forming substances which are converted into dyestuffs by subsequent treatment. A bipack comprises front and rear films sensitive respectively to blue and red, the front film being uncoloured and the rear film coloured red or yellow. For a tripack, a film sensitized on both sides is combined with a single film. The front side of the double film is sensitized to blue and is uncoloured, and the rear side is sensitive to green or red and contains a yellow dyestuff; the single film is sensitive to red or green and contains a red or a yellow dyestuff. The bluesensitive layer of both bipack and tripack may contain a colourless dye-forming substance, e.g. a leuco ester. After exposure and development, the coloured layers may be converted to dyestuff images as in Specifications 395,718, 397,159, and 397,188. The layers containing colourless dye-forming substances may be treated as in Specification 379,679, 416,566, or 416,660; alternatively, the colourless layer may be dyed after development. Specifications 397,170 and 408,991 also are referred to.
