Convention date, July 27, 1933. [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Shearing; corrugating.-In a machine for trimming and grooving in succession, containers such as battery-cups 8, rotated upon a spindle 7, a tool 11 is swung into operative position by a cam 17 acting upon a lever 15. The tool 11 carries a circular cutter 18 for trimming the cup and a grooving tool 19 which extends along part only of the periphery of the roller 11, and co-operates with a groove in the spindle 7 after the cutter 18 has severed the cup. Auxiliary tools for transverse or helical grooving may be used.
