Abstract

A masking preparation, for protecting the parts of surfaces which are not to be coated with paint &c., consists of a non-drying paste composed of calcium chloride solution mixed with a finely divided material such as French chalk, zinc oxide, aluminium oxide, china clay, or starch. According to the Provisional Specification, other hygroscopic substances, e.g. glycerine, may be used instead of calcium chloride. Specification 7571/93, [Class 95], is referred to.
