Abstract
415,552. Railway &c. crossings. SUMMERSON & SONS, Ltd., T., and WRIGHTSON, S. S., York Street, Darlington. June 24, 1933, No. 18061. [Class 104 (i).] In a crossing or frog formed from flat-bottomed rails, the flanges of the rails 1, 2 forming the vee-rail are sc formed at the edge, as to rest on and be supported by the adjacent flanges of the wing rails 3, 4. One or both of the rails 1, 2 may be cut slightly higher than the rails 3, 4 to reduce the depth of cut of the flanges, or the flanges of the rails 3, 4 may be reduced in thickness for the same purpose. Specification 348,886 is referred to.
