Abstract

414,787. Collapsable boxes. BENNETT, J., 27, Priory Way, Headstone Lane, Harrow, Middlesex. Feb. 20, 1933, No. 5162. [Class 18.] A collapsable container comprises a body portion of flexible material which may be folded to form three sides and two closuremembers to fill the open ends, the body portion having six reinforcing members fixed to the sides to form three sides of a rectangle inside each open end and having grooves in which slide the closure members, each of these carrying a reinforcing member to complete the rectangle and fix the container in an erected position. A body member a is scored at b to form lid flaps, and three sides along whose edges are fixed (by nails or otherwise), reinforcing members d, e, tenoned and morticed at f, g, to interlock and having grooves in which slide closure members h which carry reinforcing members j interlocking by means of similar portions j<1>, f<1>. The members h may be extended to form flaps h<1>, in which case the members j will be split into two parts. Fig. 6 shows an alternative method of fitting the reinforcing members into each other at 8<1>.
