[Class 88 (ii).] In a collapsable drum having the shell in the form of a four-sectioned strip folding coil-wise, and the hoops of the heads in four sections hinged together in such a way that the head can be folded first to a semicircle and then to a convex form by bringing the ends of the semicircle together, as described in Specification 291,610, [Class 88 (ii)], the heads can be tensioned independently of each other. The tensioning screws 4, Fig. 5, engage internally screwthreaded members 3 each pivoted to a block 2 slidable against the action of a spring 5, within a guide-member 1. Or the members 3 may detachably engage hooks on the shell. The shell sections 6, Fig. 9, are flanged round their strengthening strips 11 at 6b. The hinged connections of the hoop sections are formed with two projections on one section engaging between three on the next (Fig. 12, not shown).
