Abstract
Translucent bodies are moulded by placing one or more thin layers of cellulose wadding, which have been impregnated with a solution of a translucent binding material such as gelatine, gum arabic, cellulose acetate &c., in a mould, e.g. a plaster mould, pressing the thin layers against the wall of the mould and allowing the material to set. The process is carried out at normal temperatures. The material may be coated and coloured, either superficially or throughout and may be metallised.
