[Class 136 (iii).] In a spring saddle pillar of the type comprising inner and outer telescopic tubes containing a shock-absorbing spring, the joint between the telescopic tubes is protected by a slidable weather cowl. A weather cowl A is secured to the inner tube C carrying the saddle, and is adapted to slide over the upper end of the outer tube B, which is clamped in the cycle frame. Rotation is prevented by a key D secured to the tube B and engaging a slot in the tube C. The opposite wall of the tube C is slit to prevent jamming.
