[Class 83 (iii).] A divided screwing-die h, h<1> is slidably mounted in a collet g which has an undercut slot for receiving the correspondingly shaped sides of the die. A thin springy base m, Fig. 2, which may be integral with the side walls of the collet or attached thereto, allows the sides to be pressed inwards to grip the die, by means of the pointed end s of a handle d which screws into the stock a. The end s may be on a plug t riveted in the hollow handle or may be integral with a solid handle, and also serves to retain the collet within the stock. The die mav be adjusted by screws v, Fig. 1, in the stock and may be changed for others of different pitch, index marks x, y, being provided on the dies and collet respectively to indicate the correct setting of each die. The base m and the stock have axial passages z, z <1> for the work and radial workguides 6 in the stock are adjusted by a rotary scroll plate 5. A tommy bar hole u is provided in the handle d and the base m is cut away at opposite sides to clear the screws v when it is withdrawn from the stock.
